The Dome Hall is a spacious 116 m² accommodation located on the southwest side of Het Koloniehuis. Following a complete renovation, the former dormitories have been open to guests since August 2026. Distinctive domed ceilings, generous living areas, and a large private garden give the accommodation its unique character.
From former dormitories to the Dome Hall
The Dome Hall is located in the former dormitories of Het Koloniehuis, a building that once housed children visiting Bergen aan Zee to recuperate in the healthy sea air.
During the renovation, the original layout was restored as much as possible. The distinctive domed ceilings once again define the space in the living room and one of the bedrooms. The small window that once allowed the night nurse to keep an eye on the children from her room has also been preserved.
The Dome Hall features a spacious living room, two large bedrooms—one with a domed ceiling and one with a bay window—a fully equipped kitchen, and a stylish bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower. Both bedrooms are furnished with a king-size bed (180 × 210 cm). For families, the larger bedroom can be expanded to include an additional sleeping area for two children, if desired.
